CajunDemon you make a great point. If a tornado hit the school and took out everything except the pillars we could rebuild. The newest building is the Presidents office. Take a stroll around campus and just really take in the eyesores. The bricks were fixed, but the roads look awful. I've been in buildings where the lights are needing changed, the tiles are broken or falling out. This isn't just the field house folks, this is classrooms. The gifted program building has a penis drawn in the dust that hasn't been cleaned in three years. There are sections of fence around that whole place that just look bad.DTNSU, you couldn't have hit the nail on the head more than you did right there. Dr. Henderson was exciting and he brought change and new innovation and he wanted things to look sharp. He made that scoreboard and endzone look like more than just a hill of weeds and rarely cut hedges. He had a vision and like most of the underpaid and under appreciated successes that come from NSU, he is gone.
Speaking of kids going places that reminds me, Bobby's son was a QB at Nicholls. Heck, Henderson's kid is going to ULL. Maggio's child followed Greg's kid to LaTech. It's bad when your children don't care to attend the school that pays for them to go to college elsewhere. I love my Alma Mater, I give to Demons Unlimited, I support as much as I can afford too and the reality is that it needs more than a few can offer. We won't be back at the top because we can't get top talent and we can't recruit kids that we can develop because there isn't enough here to help them.
There are programs with worse facilities that win more than we do...Shit when Fritz arrived at Sam that place was a dump. It's still average at best. That stadium is falling apart and believe me, they have some of the worst locker rooms I've ever seen. He didn't let that get in the way of vaulting them into national prominence.
