Thanks for the encouragement. It's always about matchups, isn't it? Football is a crazy sport. Even so, Johnson, Louis, Brown, Hill and Overstreet are all very fast and deserve our utmost respect. Have to keep them from jumping on us like they did the Cowboys. I thought McNeese made a mistake by not playing Daniel Sams at QB when they got an early turnover. The game was 14-7 at that point. Sams was hot and instead of being down 21-7, the Cowboys could have been closer to 14-14 or just down 21-14 at the half. That would have changed the way the whole second-half was played. They also left the middle of the field wide open for Johnson to do lots of damage with his legs. Then the game just got away from them. But, this is why we watch it -- matchups!

I think slu is overrated. I wasn't overly impressed with their offense last year and it's not as good this year. They're a good offense but Bennett is in my opinion very overhyped. I expect your defense to be stout but personally I think that the results you had against slu were a combo of a good defense matching up against a decent offense. I can tell you that if our coaches will call a smart game you will see that Johnson is a much more deadly qb than Bennett with his speed. If the gameplan calls for him to keep throwing deep balls then you will think I am a nut job as he will likely look pretty bad. I agree with the SLU assessment, they certainly are not as potent as they were last year.

The Demons matchup with Sam a lot better than McNeese does, especially their defense vs Sam's offense. McNeese has a small front seven and vulnerable to being pushed around. NW is bigger and has more team speed. I expect Mike Lucas to try and make Sam one dimensional, and I expect he'll have success doing it. Johnson is a horrible passer, especially if he's got to fit balls into tight coverage. If the Demons can string together some offense, I like their chances of winning this game at home. Our D-line may be bigger than McNeese's but we are very small at LB. Tackling Hill and Johnson all day will be a tall order.

Your LBs may be smallish by normal standards but still bigger than McNeese and better tacklers in space. If you slow Sam's running game, you will shut them down. The key to the Demons winning the game is Adkins and his ability to sustain drives and not turn the ball over.

We won't find the running room we had last week for UIW so Adkins converting 3rd downs will be vital in our ability to keep this a close game.

I can't understand why we can't win when it counts during SLC play and look like absolutely dog shit against a team that we're pretty equal with.

We have left 9 to 13 points on the field. That might haunt us against a good team. We should be up by 9-13 points. But, we're not. Our field goal kicking has completely tanked since LaTech. Weird.

Unbelievable. Our lack of capitalizing on opportunities and our mistakes (interceptions) are giving this game away. Especially the way the D has played since the 2nd Quarter. If we lose, it's our own fault. BUT, I like the way we're competing.

Oh, it's going to haunt us...we look just terrible on offense. Every time we do something right we follow it up with something awful. Should be a 27-27 game...not sure WTF'ing deal is with Adkins and Moore today.

Defense played LIGHTS after the 1st quarter. Especially after losing our best DL (Simon) early. Special teams was great save the two missed FGs. Offense has been a combination of great and good enough. And all I can say is "WOW!!!" This team has NO quit in them. I don't even know what else to say other than "yeehaw" and "Fork'em!!!"

Y'all want to have some fun? Go to the Sam Houston Fan Forum and listen to them. We're being called an inferior team, even after we just won. They want their coaches fired. We left at least 16 points on the field and take away their first quarter, we absolutely stoned them in the stats and we're inferior? Could it be that we made adjustments to their running game? Hey, Sam fans, we lost our best DL in the game. Give us some credit. We beat you and should have beaten you by two touchdowns. To the normal, respectful Sam fans, we appreciate the competition today and wish you well the rest of the season.

They have some trashy and downright disrespectful fans. Not all of them, the ones that have graced our board seem nice. Don't waste your time, they're just butt hurt.
Wow, I did what I shouldn't have and went on their forum and couldn't contain my laughter. They want their coach fired, their OC investigated for point shaving and ragged on us for a weak crowd..WTF!!?? They're one to talk, we are in a town half the size and a campus 1/4 of the size and outdraw them. They need to get a grip on reality. Sam houston freakin state is not God's gift to FCS football. You went out and hired a big name and are pissed because you're not dominating everyone in his first year.. Sheesh. Give him a year or two at least for crying out loud.
Better luck next year, maybe some more UT and TCU kids will get kicked off and can help bolster up that roster.

Back to what matters, it was a great win today. Sam has been the standard in the conference for a few years and this is a solid step for our rebuilding program. Still leaving way too many points out on the field and not finishing drives, but a wins a win. On to UCA. Fork 'em!

No doubt, UCA deserves our attention and respect. Something we did not receive from this week's opponent. Too bad for them.

UCA will be a dogfight. They are always very well coached and have a ton of talent. Conway in october is great trip, those who can go should make the drive up!
