Had control of the game early and got outscored 27-3 in the second half. Really disappointing as these are the games we really need to win to get over the hump. Should be a very tough one against Baylor.
Still early in the season.
I really hate the new game stats, really hard to follow the game.

This is one that surely got away. We didn't go for the kill and paid heavily for it. Early losses like this combined with a tough early schedule also kills attendance later in the year. This one will hurt for awhile.

Purple, you're exactly right. I waited until this morning so I wouldn't say anything I would regret.
I think Jay Thomas is a good coach and the right man for the job. However, it just seems that we're destined to always "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory". Last night is why people don't come to the games anymore...you get your hopes up and then get let down in the end. It's what people have come to expect from the Demons. I get made fun of (not in a mean way) by my family because I "still" keep up with NSU football because they've long since lost any kind of interest as a result of so many results like last night.

I, like everyone on this board, continue to follow the team out of loyalty and in hopes that this worm will eventually turn. No need to give up now. On to Baylor!!!

I'll never give up, but you are absolutely correct. I hear it all the time. My thoughts about the game: We looked as good in the first half as I have seen in a long time. Adkins stats looked good but I did not think he was really sharp. Very Impressed with the receivers. Where we're the tight ends? We were supposed to wear them down, not the other way around. Not sure why we continued to bang Atzenweiler into the middle of the line. especially dismayed by the play calling the next to last time we had the ball down by one.

Obviously the fumble at the three lost the game for us. Adkins always seems to put up great numbers, but it hasn't seemed to get us very far. Anyone who watched the game, how did the NCHS rb look?

We'll be alright, no need to hit the panic button just yet, wait till we lay an egg vs nicholls before doing that...
Joking aside, It's a long season and I really think we'll be just fine. Lot of football left to be played.

Ya know...it's easy to place blame on Atz for fumbling at the goal line but it isn't like Miss St. scored on their first play. They had to go 97 YARDS to score the TD. We later threw an INT which gave them the ball on our 40 and they scored a TD off of that too. We have struggled in the past in turnover margin and we have started the season -2...

If you think about it, they really only had three big passes, two for TD's, that hurt us bad. The safeties were responsible for them. It is still a learning process for them. If their is one area we are somewhat young and inexperienced, it is at safety. We have talent there, we just need seasoning. I know we are headed in the right direction, we are just experiencing growing pains.

Yea, and we happen to have our second team corners in during those big passes. Adam Jones is still new at FS and learning the position. I still think we lack some size at middle linebacker, but we'll be fine. I have full confidence this thing is still headed in the right direction. "Needing a little seasoning" is a great way to put it…
Sometimes losses like these are a blessing in disguise.

Those who "turn their backs on NSU and walk away" because their expectations are not fully met, really get zero respect from this Demon. I am an old man (67 years). I have held season tickets (I now have 10) since 1980. I have had many opportunities to throw in the towel on some REALLY bad teams and I have watched other teams finish as high as #3 in the nation. NSU does not have the budget to attract "the best players money can buy", like LSU and Alabama and Baylor; however, they DO have something (for what it's worth) that cannot be bought at any price....MY LOYALTY! I know the same is true for most, if not all, of you.
