I would imagine Mizzou State is definitely wanting some revenge on us. As programs we are really both in the same state. If we want to improve we have to beat teams like MSU, on the same side if they want to get over the hump they need to beat us.
I'm hoping the team has at least 11k cheering them on. Went to the Lamar game last year and there could have been more than 4k in the stadium. Hope we can get Turpin back to the point where we were getting 10k+ every week.

A fumble away from being up 31-7 and putting this game away and we crap and fall back in it ... and completely fall apart. Unreal. Congrats to Mizzou State for not giving up. We still have a ways to go yet.

It scares me to see them gain 4-10 yards a carry during the fourth quarter.

It's one thing to get beaten by the opponent. It's a whole other thing to blow a game. We blew this game. Plain and simple. Credit to Mizzou State for never giving up. We played lights out for 2.5 quarters ... then fell asleep. And it was triggered by a crucial turnover. We don't lose the ball there and we win by 20-30 points. Momentum is a weird entity. This one stings. I feel bad for the players.

I didn't come over here to troll or anything, but wanted to just say two things.
1. Good game. 2. Just as a general request, please don't call us Mizzou State. Many of us despise Mizzou, so being in any way associated with them is...yuck.
I hope our schools get to play each other again sometimes. If it weren't for that fumble, you guys woulda had it. Good luck for the rest of the season.

It was a good game from an entertainment perspective, yes. I'm all for playing one another more often. Yes, we absolutely blew the game. And I'll call you Missouri State because you deserve it. Later.

You just have to give your team much credit. I felt the Demons completely dominated the game and were one yard away from probably icing it. Still that fumble did not put any points on the board. Your offense had to go do that. And your defense had to keep getting stops and did. Tough lesson - and not to take anything away from the Bears - but even after that fumble I didn't get the feeling that NSU felt any urgency. Rather was way too comfortable. Lot of ball yet to be played and both teams can have solid seasons. I didn't come over here to troll or anything, but wanted to just say two things. 1. Good game. 2. We struggled against the run (which was mentioned in the Missouri State article that was posted) last year...we sure struggled last night.
It's easy to play "arm chair coach" but I was absolutely astonished that we didn't go for it on 4th down. I know it was 4th and 8 but there was 3:15 left and the way MSU was running the ball I felt we should have gone for it.

That loss stung for sure. Im still wrapping my brain around what happened. Total domination for 2.5 quarters and then the Atzenweiler fumble happened and it seemed like we didn't care after that and laid down...I respect the hell out of the Missouri State players for not quitting and stealing one from us. We'll be alright, it's just one game and we didn't lose to an inferior opponent, but blowing a big lead is painful. Like I said it was speed vs size, and their size took control in the last quarter and won the game for them. See everyone next week in Waco.

I've had two offers to join friends in Waco but I think I'll stay at the house and watch it on FSN...as enticing as it is to visit the new Baylor stadium. That place may not be the largest stadium in the country but how unique because of location and being able to "sail-gate". They really knocked it out of the park.

Its not too bad of a trip for me and I have some friends down there so I will be going. I fully expect them to hang 60-70 on us though…
Memo to Greg Burke: Quit scheduling them!!! they don't pay us that much...

I disagree. $450,000 for one game is not exactly "loose change".... not when you look at our budget.

I was being somewhat facetious, but I really don't like that we keep playing them. I just think we could play someone else and get the same paycheck, who doesn't average over 600 yards and 60 points a game.

What is the typical payout to an FCS team nowadays?
