Soooooooooooooo....now what? I said it at the beginning of the season that the QB position was the key to a successful season. No offense to Kaleb Fletcher but his skillet just doesn't match the kind of offense that I believe Smiley wants to run. Several missed throws, bad reads, and uncertainty coming from the QB position. To make matters worse...no run game and the defense is literally on the field too much. We got spanked by a middle of the road OVC squad that was far more physical than we are. Turpin Stadium used to be where teams dread to come play...well that's gone. Teams come in confident that they are going to win and win big! I'm glad our APR is always one of the tops in the Southland but being the Vanderbilt of the Southland means nothing when you don't win! Greg Burke may have a great track record in the eyes of other programs but you should see the mess he has created with football hires. Forget the glory days because it would almost be disrespectful to talk about how good we were if you see what is on the field right now. Nicholls and Southeastern are going to beat us down really good and all we'll hear is..."the kids competed but" Is that all we are anymore? A school that competes but doesn't win? Well, the 14th straight season without a winning season is on deck. #Disappointed

Jamaican proverb:
A lemon tree loaded with lemons needs no introduction. You can tell what it is by its fruit.
Sports proverb:
A football program that continually loses needs no introduction. You can tell what it is by its stats and records.
NSU football has hit rock bottom and there is no defending it. No QB on the roster to run the system? That's on the coaches. Sorry. Defense on the field too long? Hmm, they seemed to be at their worse in the first-quarter last night. That is coaching. Kicking game continuing to struggle from last season? That is coaching. Don't blame the players when you are paid to build a roster. This is ALL on the coaches. I am not saying they should be fired, but they are NOT doing their jobs right now and they need to be told so in a very firm manner. Nine wins out of about 30 games this far just isn't good enough. Sorry. Especially, when we seem to be digressing and not improving.

Losing I has become a habit for the demons. No change will be made until we gat an AD that will hire the best and not good ole boy hires. Bringing in a high school coach who was not very successful is not the way to build a program. No championships at that level will certainly no convert to championships at the college level. The buck stops with the coaches and AD.

Saturday night was not good, I was there. Last week was not good either. Should have been two wins. We are in big trouble for the season. SLU, Nicholls and Incarnate Word are very good. It appears that McNeese is better than us too. Only HBU seems to be winnable at this point. I am very tired of this every year. This will be 14 straight losing seasons. I drive 9 hours round trip for every home game and do not miss. Buy five season tickets every year but I am close to giving up.

I don't believe that I will give up. I just see what other programs are doing compared to ours. UIW beat Texas State, Nicholls gave ULL a tough time, SELU literally has our blueprint since Rivers left and went there. This season looks like a lost season, but I'm going to hang in there. However, if we decide to move on and hire another coach, I really hope that we evaluate "outside" options.

Looking "outside" is the only way to go. "Good ole boy" hires doesn't bring success.
