Not sure what to expect going into this game. We are 56 point underdogs, just got dominated by a D2 and are traveling into Tiger Stadium to face what looks like one of the better LSU teams.
Stinks we couldn’t face them with one of our better teams.
I feel for Laird and the team. Heat has definitely been raised on them. Considering he mentioned blocking out “outside talk” one can only assume he knows that the state of this program is unacceptable.
I’m just hoping that with nothing to lose and no one expecting them to even be competitive that our boys come out on fire, pissed off and put up a fight and maybe give LSU a game (much like SLU/McNeese did)
I’ll be in Tiger Stadium. Demons need our support right now. Hope we can turn this thing around.

We seem to have a knack for scheduling these power 5 teams when they are at their best. Baylor a couple times with Briles, LSU in 2011, Houston when they had Keenum and Holgorsen was the OC, Miss State with Prescott, A&M last year with Jimbo, and now LSU looks like a playoff contender. This will be a long night. Ed Orgeron being a demon himself should bode well for us in the second half when he hopefully calls off the dogs.

Luckily I don’t think he will do like Briles did and I fully expect him to call off the dogs pretty quickly if it gets out of hand. Positive for this game is the team has absolutely nothing to lose

Based on what I saw Saturday I see no reason why should expect to see the Demons "put up a fight". I know that sounds like a Debbie Downer but let's just be real. Laird and crew need to focus on the opponent after LSU.

Spread is 55. Not surprising. We played "plucky" against the Tigers in 2011 according to Scott Rabalais of The Advocate and we lost by 46. This one will likely be quite ugly, but should be fun for the players, coaches, families and fans who have connections to each university. It's also a nice payday for a short bus ride. I'm more interested in how we look in the following 9 games, though. As aggravated and flustered as I am over last Saturday, and for reasons beyond me, I still hold out hope for the program. At some point and at some time in the future ... the worm must turn in our favor. When? Who knows.

I appreciate your optimism, as disappointed as I was driving back 4 hours Saturday night I kinda feel the same way.

I thought I was long over getting upset over a loss. I'd gone quiet and was at peace with whatever happened on the field. Then, the first two games of the season happened. Well, half of the first game and then last Saturday. I'm searching for my place of peace again. I like that better than getting aggravated.

I'm still optimistic. Just frustrated like everyone else. Really stinks that it seems the program just can't turn the corner. However I believe it will happen sooner than later.
Not worried about the LSU game. Hoping we go out and give them a challenge and gain some confidence.
I am reminded of 1997. McNeese just ripped our guts out 50-7 to drop the Demons to 2-3. People were questioning Coach Goodwin at the time, much like we are questioning Coach Laird and the direction of the program. Demons came together that year and won the last 6 games and made it to the playoffs. Not saying it will happen but I do think we have the talent where it can happen. Just need to figure out how to get all the pieces moving in the right direction.
FORK EM DEMONS.....FORK EM ALL

Don't think that just because it's Coach O on the other sideline, that there will be mercy. Not at all. I watched his weekly presser. He was his usual self, except he made it clear that he didn't care that the school on the other sideline was his alma mater, or as he said it, "it's where I got my paper." He did note that the opposing coach was the son of his coach (Billy Laird). There was one tinge of tenderness in that moment. He did wish us luck the rest of our schedule except for this weekend and against McNeese (no surprise, since that's where he told his boys to go play ball). He said that he's planning to let the horses run (my paraphrase) so they can work on their game and fix those problems that he sees they have. In others words, in my meaningless opinion, the final score is 70-3. I wish it wasn't so, and I'll be with my large family cheering from the Demon section in the end zone, but that's what I'm guessing.

I'd say our team played a pretty good game, considering the opponent and sans that last score by LSU.
If they would have played like that last weekend then we're sitting at 1-2, close to being 2-1. But you gotta play the game no, D3 D2, FCS or FBS.
Last night gives me more hope than I had after the Midwestern game that we can put something together and still possibly come out 5-6 or 6-5.

We play like we did last night and we are 2-1 right now. Defensive back did a great job in the first half
People on here were right about O though, we are just a piece of paper to him. Made that evident with that last drive
