Went to the North Texas/Louisiana Tech game in Denton on Thursday night. The Bulldogs had a good game especially riding the strength of their QB, although I think probably a better statement is that North Texas is not that good of a team this year. Yes, Bulldog fans, you should be heavily favored to beat us based on sheer numbers. However, remember you are still ~40 points worse than a decent BCS team and obviously have a long way to go before being competitive where it really counts in your mind. I just want to point out again that we still scored more points on Baylor than SMU and June Jones did lol. Although our defense allowed A LOT more than the SMU D.

Five or six TDs? Dang! La Tech isn't Baylor ... not even close. I mean, I'm sure they're more than likely going to beat us, but let's not hand it to them on a platter. The last time we played them it was a ten point game. For the record, I have no issue AT ALL with La Tech. It's a fine university and represents our state very well. Academically, Louisiana needs La Tech and La Tech needs the rest of Louisiana. However, the same message goes to La Tech, athletically, that goes to Tulane, UL-L and UL-M. Give up EVER trying to be LSU and just be yourself. That battle has been lost and will never be won. EVER! Life will be much better when that particular form of athletic jealousy is put to death and everyone can just enjoy where they are and who they are and what each university brings to the table.

Well, Baylor beat us by 9 TDs, or 63 points. After how we absolutely folded and our lack of defensive pressure on either team we've played so far I just don't see us being able to stop Tech and their QB at all.
I think the "trying to be LSU" medal goes to ULL...hands down.

Good point, but Baylor just beat Buffalo by 42 points on the road in a totally disinterested effort last night. They led 35-0 at the half. I agree that La Tech will be a very tough game and their QB, Sokol, RB, Dixon, WR's, Lee, Turner and company are excellent athletes, but I think we can do some damage, too. Don't forget that Zach Adkins was headed to Ruston before Franklin left with Dykes for California. Our offense has some talent. Also, Missouri State, a team we totally let off the hook, went and played well against Oklahoma State last weekend. They lost 40-23, but that's a dynamic effort against an Okie State team that hung with FSU the weekend before. Think La Tech would beat Okie State? I don't think so. And I agree on the medal statement. Maybe once everyone sees it is a futile effort to compare overall academic and athletic acumen to LSU, we can put the high-horses up and start to befriend and play one another more often? It economically makes complete sense. Balkanizing over athletics makes absolutely NO sense.

I'm a "on any given night" kinda guy, so no wild predictions from me on the upcoming LA Tech/Northwestern State game. I am glad to see that Tech is playing in-state rivals again. I attended Tech back in the day when we looked forward to the yearly State Fair game. I made many trips to Northwestern State for academic rallies and FFA events back in high school and always enjoyed my trips there. My vocational agriculture teacher was a LA Tech grad which played a huge influence on me in me deciding to attend Tech. Of course I'm hoping for a Tech win, but think Northwestern State is a good school that I wish well.

They are going to lose to us and are falling way behind ULL in all sports. Really? So us going TO Lafayette and beating them 48-20 in THEIR place sure proves your point. Idiot.

As I said...check out all sports. Stadium is going to 60,000 capacity. they fill it up. Believe me I am jealous of what they have going on. Truth is they are in a booming area of the state and a Lafayette is an awesome city.

ULL is not building a 60K seat stadium. You don't honestly believe their propaganda, do you? Tech's football program proved it on the field that Tech is superior to ULL as always. Tech's men's basketball program is stronger than ULL. ULL only has 1 winning season in MBB in the last decade. The worst Lady Techster basketball team in history beat ULL last year. We are 39-0 all-time against ULL in WBB. Our soccer team shut out ULL 2-0 last week. Tech's T&F is superior. On and on. Don't be fooled by a bunch of Sun Belt wins.

LaTech Alum -- We don't need your vitriol on this board. Move on along. Life is way too short to call people names over a football game. The world is falling apart at the seams and you take time out of your day to call someone an "idiot" because they believe in their team? Everyone on this board, admittedly or not, has nothing but respect for the La Tech athletic program and we're WAY over any yesteryear rivalry that once festered the piney woods of North Louisiana. Grow up, man. Better yet, just go away and don't come back to this board again unless you can be man enough to apologize to the man you insulted.
Another Tech Alum -- You are a class act and are welcome here anytime. Have a nice day, sir!

Way to stay classy brother, name calling on an internet fan forum…wish I had that kind of courage. The comment was made back in april, ULL was coming off of a bowl win and tech was 4-8(i think)….even your own posters on BBB were calling for Holtz to be fired. Jeez man.

They averaged just under 30k last year and unlike ltech's announced crowds theirs are legit. Hey as I said I don't like it but I will admit, they are the number 2 program in the state now and are going to keep getting stronger due to the location in the state and the attractiveness of the city of Lafayette. Lot's of companies with money down there. Tulane will be making a push now with there new facilities and a football program that seems to be turning the corner but as of now ULL is number 2. Football team wins three straight bowl games and fills up the superdome with fans. They HOST a regional in the NCAA baseball tourney. Girls softball goes to the big dance, men's basketball in the NCAA's. That's a pretty good run.
