This game is nuts. Eppler definitely has the passing record now, let’s hope it’s not in vain. Agreed, unbelievable passing by Eppler.

Well they might get their wish as Lamar threw a long pass for a TD, EXCEPT, the Demons blocked the extra point - so the Demons still hold the lead 49-48 late in the game.

Wow, that game was stressful.
Major concerns defensively, it felt like they ran 4 different plays that worked all night.

Get the win on the road and figure it out after looking at film and with a bye next week - baby steps.

I mentioned back after the Grambling game my concern if we faced another mobile QB...well it happened...only the QB last night was WAY (SMU transfer) better than GSU's and he added another level of difficulty with his ability to run the option. I'm a bit surprised that we didn't have someone spying him waiting for him to run on those blitz calls. I think maybe our offense scoring so quickly might've put a little too much strain on the defense...looked like they were gassed.
My only other negative comment is I was a bit surprised at our inability to run the ball a little more effectively.
It's gonna be a tough call trying to decide SLC player of the week between Jazz Ferguson and Eppler. Wow!

His mobility was backbreaking and our defense looked gassed down the stretch. We got one huge run by West when we needed it to seal the game but before that couldn't move the ball on the ground.

Did anyone bother to get the defense out the locker room after the weather delay? Offense saved the game and the Demons season is off to a promising start. Defensive scheme was lacking for such a mobile QB so I will blame coaching on defense performance that almost cost the game. Good news is the D has 2 weeks to make corrections and they will get better. Coaches learn as much as players and There will come a game that the D will have to pull the rabbit out the hat and they will. Go Demons!
