I have missed the news on impact players, Cheyenne Brown and Jalen West. Does anyone have an update? Also, I want to believe the teams will pull it together to get in the conference fight but the glimmer is fading. Any insights?

I don't think Jalen is coming back so it will be hard for the team to make it into the Conference Tournament. W/o Jalen and Devonte the back court is just missing too much experience. In regards to "Light at the end of the tunnel" Ish and Sweeney have played much better recently and some of the freshman (CJ, Darian and Larry) have played better and are getting valuable experience. Probably not the most popular thing to say but I think this team is playing for next year. Under this current roster Sweeney is the only Senior so most of this current roster should be back and more experienced. Now if Jalen or even a kid like Czar comes back this season then things can change but this team needs some W's before they fall too far behind (like last year).

I knew Cheyenne Brown was injured but Jalen West as well? And DeVonte Hall?
I don't foresee either team making the SLC tournament...

I don't understand how two major players on this team can just up and stop playing and NOBODY knows anything about it.

@1993demon.......yeah I don't get it either. Especially Jalen. He battled back from two major knee injuries, got a waiver to come back and then leaves a third of the way through the season and not because of injury. I don't get it.

They posted some tweets from the Tim Fletcher show over on the SFA board where coach apparently said Jalan and DeVonte are done at NSU. That's sad and I wish we knew why but I suppose its time to move on and see what young talent we might have.

That's sad and I wish we knew why but I suppose its time to move on and see what young talent we might have. Would LOVE to know what happened. DeVonte Hall is the more disappointing...Jalan has had more than his share of chances and extra opportunities. When I heard the news I went back and looked at box scores and the last game Devonte played in was the LC game. For Jalan it was the Utah game. Also heard we were down to only 1 point guard...Bailey Walker quit before the season started, Hall and West have been gone most of the season and apparently a freshmen point guard is MIA.

Bailey actually left after the Rice game (4th game) but you are right about them being down to just one true PG. Czar (the freshman PG) is actually not MIA. He's just out due to "off the court" reasons. There is actually a chance that he comes back. He may be the most talented of the young guys.

What is going on? Why are all these players quitting and not playing for “personal reasons”?

That's the million dollar question. I think Czar's situation is a little different BUT the other 3 guys seem to have left on their own for "personal reasons". I REALLY don't get Jalen as he put in so much work to get back and got the 7th year waiver. Why put in all that work and then basically quit.
