We have a couple of new, old faces on the offensive side. Also, a new member of the defensive coaching staff. Any thoughts on the new look staff?

Clearly no one cares about this football team anymore......years of poor decisions by the administration has sucked the life out of Demon supporters. Seems to be the case for coaches and support staff as everyone seems to be abandoning ship as of the past year....

Seat16, Ill throw in my thoughts on it...
I think Laird coming back is a huge upgrade at DC, its hard to say what the offense will look like but I like the energy that Laird brings on the defensive side will be a huge improvement. Norton leaving is the best for both parties, I hope Manley can get this offense going and get this thing turned around.

Laird being back is a wonderful thing. He loves NSU and he's a darn good football coach. He's also a gentleman and will work well with Jay this season. Hopefully success will be measured in wins sooner than later.

NSU really needs to get things on track...not just in football. We've become a middle of the row/bottom of the barrel athletic department.
If football had a not so great season we could always look forward to the spring sports...for a variety of reasons (coaching changes, injuries, etc.) that is no longer the case.
I find myself losing more and more interest every year because it always seems to end in disappointment or we somehow manage to "snatch defeat from the jaws of victory".

I'm hearing about some other changes besides staff that are in the works to help the football program. But not so sure others leaving is a bad sign. Taking a hard look at where they went and why is telling. LaTech threw the kitchen sink at our WBB staff. Others left for places like Clemson and Cal and Iowa. We are not going to be a destination for most unfortunately. Still have a lot of good coaches & support staff in place.

Robbie Brown was going to be pure greatness in the OC job, too bad he went on to South Alabama and then the NFL. He was missed after one season.

Thats the sad part, is people do care and do support this program, but we cant field a winning team to give students, alumni, faculty, fan base etc. .. something to be excited about. Support is still there, just zero optimism or excitement.

Kyle Manley is the OC now. HAHAHA Dude hasn't developed one Quarterback since he's been here. Zack Adkins was just a good football player. God bless this offense next season

Hope He hasn't proved anything the past 2 years as the Pass Game Coordinator (Passing was atrocious in 2016) and I'm positive he wont prove otherwise with the entire offense in his hands.

We need to offer Craig Davis of Huntington High School in Shreveport. The kid can ball and I heard he doesn't have any offers!

Support for football?? Get out of town before the next coach leaves!! Greg Burke fired a 7-4 coach and then Peveto takes the same team 0-11. At least Thomas took Peve's team and they went 5-6. He beat Louisiana Tech and brought the Chief home twice. Burke spent a million dollars on a softball stadium that brought about 5-10 more people over the years. That's a poor investment. Heard Burke told Thomas he needed him to pay off one of Peveto's loans that was nearly a quarter of a million dollars. He is about to pay it off from what my source is telling me. Has anyone been at one of their fundraisers? It's the same people at all of the events. I was standing next to Senator Long at a football auction when it looked like Burke raised his hand to bid. He said, "Nooooo... I'm out of this one." Everyone laughed to think he might buy something to help his football team. It made me think, maybe no one wants football to be successful because their actions don't reflect that. It sick that my program has fallen so far, we haven't made any upgrades to the stadium other than a paint job and turf. Imagine the changes Thomas could have made in that facility with that money? Probably would have had the video board 3 years ago. He might have been able to keep the quality coaches they had or he might have left for a better school/situation already. As for coaches, not sure Daye was worth it, but paying a D1 coordinator $55K a year when position coaches at other schools in the conference make more. We are getting what we pay for. I have watched Thomas closely as I was big Stoker fan and Scott said, "he can get it done." Stoke got it done, but makes me think how broken was/is it if Thomas can't? It's probably not Thomas' fault and while Miss Haley is sharing her thoughts behind closed doors on Greg and a new Head Coach (Laird), Maggio ought to look at making more changes than just a head coach. I'd help them all move out of town.

Your rant being what it is, I will take issue with the "we haven't made any upgrades to the stadium" statement. Have you seen the new seats? That was a large investment from a booster. There is a large, fantastic new video board going in this year. So there are plenty of facility improvements being made and in the works.
