I am pleased with the way the Demons have played without Zeke Woodley. Have been competitive and looked better than last year. I fully expect the Demons to make a run once he comes back into the mix.
Also of note, really happy for Coach Sless at UNO. Has the Privateers at the top of the conference right now. If we can't win it all I would like to see UNO in the dance this year.

If we had the West/Woodley tandem, we'd be near or at the top of the conference right now. But, such is life. Gutting out wins against McNeese and Nicholls with our younger line-up is impressive. Can we make the conference tournament? I think we can if Woodley returns healthy and not rusty. Otherwise, we might not make it. Now, Sabri Thompson has been lighting it up, so feed him the ball. Tra'von Joseph is playing like he's 6'10", so we have to keep him healthy. Even so, we need Metoyer to come back soon to spell him some. We need Devonte Hall, Iziahiah Sweeney, Josh Boyd to continue improving and Bailey Walker to drain a three or two in each game. We need Ishmael Lane and Jordan Bell to continue improving down low. And, finally, if we can get points in each game from Reggie Kissoonlal and Tanner Hamilton, even when Woodley and Metoyer return, we'll be up for a run, but nothing is guaranteed due to our disjointed nature with injuries the past couple years. Coach Mike and company are due for a run, however. They've made the NCAA tournament in 2000 (Winthrop, Illinois), 2006 (Iowa, West Virginia) and 2013 (Florida). That means by 2019 or 2020, we should make the tourney again. Hopefully in 2018, but I'm not holding my breath. Too bad we couldn't have done this with West and Woodley on the same team. They could have done some damage in a first-round matchup. No other coach in the conference has two wins in the NCAA tournament nor has been just minutes away from the Sweet Sixteen. We have the right guy at the helm, we just have to trust him.

Unfortunately Metoyer is out for the season from what I've heard. Even so, this team has been competitive in every game except for Corpus. Could easily be 4-2 instead of 2-4 in conference play. Still time to put together a nice little win streak. quote author=" purplestorm" source="/post/2839/thread" timestamp="1485095251"]If we had the West/Woodley tandem, we'd be near or at the top of the conference right now.
