Demons drop 2/3 to a mediocre Sam Houston team. Had the lead in the last 2 going into the 8th and couldn't hold on. One Step forward, two steps back.

Yep. Yesterday it was due to unearned runs deciding the game and today apparently it was balks. Not going to win the SLC if you can't win SLC games on the road.
Still surprised at how much softball has struggled since coming back from the flood break.

Softball was predicted to finish first in both polls...baseball was picked to be in the top 2...both are 5-4 in conference while McNeese is 9-0 in softball and SLU is 9-0 in baseball.
That's a pretty deep hole to dig out of...

I agree that the regular season hole is big but what's most important is who's playing the best in May. Both NSU baseball and softball teams are good enough to beat anybody in the conference and win the tournament and NCAA bid. Remember, softball started the fall with six pitchers and got down to two. That's a tough thing to deal with. Baseball is loaded with talent and has yet to hit their offensive stride. They will. I remain very optimistic about both programs' chances for a strong finish.
