Neither team could catch a break yesterday.
In the Lady's game for a second game in a row the other team gets lucky from behind the 3-point line...McNeese averages 29% but shot 42% at the end of regulation. Every time the Lady Demons would go on a run and push their lead to 9 points McNeese would come down and hit a couple 3 pointers in a row. Even players who hadn't made a single one all year made them yesterday.
The Mens team is just snake-bit with bad luck this year. Every time we play a team they end up averaging higher than normal in a category that they usually struggle in. Yesterday McNeese had players with career high games. However, I can't for the life of me figure out why Killian would have the ball with the chance to win the game with 5 seconds left. There are two players I have yet to see hit a basket and that's Killian or Kisseonlalaloulal...so why Matt would have the ball is beyond me.

Also, as soon as our young players in the paint can finish those shots under the basket this team will be VERY good team...we had a size advantage against the Cowgirls yesterday but didn't take advantage of that and started jacking up threes in the 2nd half instead of pounding the ball inside.

It's Kissoonlal (Ethiopian name ... great people ... superb food), and he hit a couple three's last week. He can shoot from the outside and would be well-qualified to shoot a last-second shot, along with Woodley, Thompson, Hall or Welcome. You're correct on Killian, that's not his shot. We're still winless against D-1 competition. That's something I NEVER, ever thought I would utter out of my mouth or type about our team. But, that's where we are.

Especially with the number of Division I teams we play in a season...statistically speaking, it's probably MORE difficult to go winless in a basketball season than not!
Anybody know how many teams went 0-fer last year in all of DI basketball? Plus, we play in the freaking SLC...one of the worst DI basketball leagues in the NCAA DI.

I didn't check every team behind us but about half of the ones below us have at least 1 Division I victory, even if it's their only victory.

Even with Jalan out this is still quite a disappointment. We've always been in the upper tier of the southland in basketball, although this is disappointing I highly doubt this team goes 0-18 in conference play.
