Lady Demons really grind out a win after another less than stellar performance to go 3-1 in SLC.
The mens team...this season has me questioning our coaching staff and recruiting. We are getting outclassed by every single team we play. Where is the rest of our "DI" talent? Playing UIW literally the only way we can stop the other team from scoring is by fouling. EVERY team we have played in SLC has higher than average point scoring and higher than average shooting %.
Teams lose important players ALL the time, every year and it's up to the coaching staff to take what's left and make them respectable and in some cases they take an underdog and make them into something special. Our team consistently looks like they have never even played or practiced together...

I'll give them credit for never giving up but damn...every time we cut the other team's lead to 5 or 6 they come down and have one of their go to players drain and three...whereas we haven't been able to buy a three, and if we do make one it's not when we really need it.

I'm really surprised by the men's team. Didn't expect us to struggle this badly and right now we are a very mediocre basketball team.
Coach Mac has built this team up from scratch before, hope he can work he magic again.

The team is totally lost without Jalan. We're done for this year and it could take some time to recover from this kind of season ... one where expectations were so high and delivery has been so low. Reminds me of the football teams in the latter Stoker and Peveto years. There was always a lot of hope over seemingly good recruits, but we always were a very average, at best, to a very poor team. Moreover, as you well know, our basketball woes didn't just happen this season. For the past four seasons or more, our opponents have often shot a lights-out percentage against us in almost every game. That's simply a result of a poor defensive scheme and a poor defensive effort. In the past few years, we've had dynamic point guards (Shamir Davis and Jalan West) running our unbelievable offense, which overcame our bad defense, but we don't have that right now ... not even close. Even our best player is struggling in most games and our bench is almost non-existent. What can a fan do, though? I'm not even upset. I'm over it and that's a place I haven't been in a long time ... if ever. I have much more peace in my life, too. Don't get me wrong, I love our university and will always pull for our teams, but I lose NO sleep over whether we win or lose anymore. I find it very hard to care more than the coaches and players and the final results are really up to them anyway. So, c'est la vie.

We're 3-10 with zero wins against Division I teams and a loss to an NAIA team. That's not mediocre, that's just plain bad. Sorry. For the record, I think the world of Coach Mike, but it's not happening this season. Just start over like he did when he had five freshman playing and won five games and eventually they were just a few minutes from the Sweet 16 four years later. Coach Mike is our guy. Maybe we will be humbled by this experience and play better defense in the future.

I do trust Coach Mike to turn it around though I don't think it will be this season.
As said above, this may humble our program and in the long turn give everyone a renewed vigor and get them to rebuild the program.
