So as if losing to NAIA LSU-A in our own gym and letting them score 99 points wasn't embarassing as it is...here we go with LOUISIANA COLLEGE!!! The game is still not decided which I can't believe I even typed.
I understand Jalan was a VERY important part of our team but my question is...where the f-ck is the rest of the DIVISION I TALENT?!?! Should we have enough talent on our team to at the VERY least beat the likes of LSUA and LC? Or am I looking at it all wrong?
Oh, and not to add insult to injury, but LaTech went up and beat Ohio State with their brand spanking, first year coach.
Mark my words...as much as I think Coach Mike is fantastic this season is going to set our program back a decade in trying to recruit quality talent to come to NSU. And apparently that's already started.

Since going to the tourney a few years ago it seems the team is getting worse and worse. Ive always believed that we need to keep coach mac as long as he's willing to stay…I know we just had an argument about how our football facilities don't hold back the football program, which is true…but I just don't see kids wanting to come play at prather. I think he does a lot with that gym. Basketball really isn't my area of interest or expertise so Ill stay out of this for the most part, but we REALLY need to get that new arena going.

The kids we have already signed for next year are top notch, especially the kid from Nola. And the young bigs we currently have are pretty good (assuming Colby Koontz can get on the floor soon). Give it a little time. Trust me, this season won't be setting anything back a decade

Thought we looked good against Auburn. I think we will contend once conference play starts. You can tell Coach Mac is still getting things together but I was impressed with how we looked.

I don't know that we looked good against Auburn ... or Arkansas right now. Both opponents scored and are scoring at will. And we won't contend for much unless we learn how to play defense. We got away without playing solid defense over the past couple seasons w a future NBA point guard running the floor. He's out for the year and we're still not playing good defense. The combination of losing West and our refusal to play defense will do us in on the season because Zeek Woodley, a true freshman forward and a 2nd team shooting guard (Thompson) can't carry the load in the SLC alone. It's going to be a long year. May as well play plenty of young guys to get ready for the future.

Yea...I understand losing Jalan but we look to defend our title as THE worst defense in the entire NCAA Division I basketball field. If we played just a little defense we would have beaten LSUA and (maybe) ULM.
I was able to actually watch part of the game last night when we went on a little run to go up 27-26 on Arkansas and we are probably the BEST 1-6 team in the country and, even without Jalan, could finish middle of the pack in the SLC. BUT!
1. Like you said...we REFUSE to play defense, or;
2. Our fundamentals on defense are SO bad that we're trying but literally couldn't guard a JV team.
3. #1 and #2 should have been addressed since the end of last season because we were soooooo awful on the defensive side of things and, with what we had returning, if ANYTHING was gonna keep us from winning the SLC and going to the NCAA tournament it was our defense.

We have a talented team and a good and proven coaching staff. The pre-conference portion of the schedule is often used as development for conference. This gang needs to understand from this point forward there are NO MORE EXCUSES!
