This QB situation is embarrassing.. 4th game of the season and we're still playing 4 QB's... I have NEVER seen that in my life. Conference play starts back up in 3 days. I expect there to be ONE QB's playing. Let a guy get into a rhythm and have the offense rally around him. We have a chance to beat the SHSU's and McNeese's and make the playoffs. It starts this Saturday by deciding who our freaking QB is

Everything revolves around QB, the OL and DL. Our QB issue might be iffy right now, but we have Hazlewood for one more year and Almond and Blumenthal for two more years. And the young man being redshirted, Skinner, can flat-out toss the rock, too. Our OL was blowing MSU's DL off the ball in the 3rd Quarter. It's the first time this year I've seen us truly flex our muscles in that area. Yes, it was against MSU's 2nd string DL, but those are still SEC athletes. Our DL is coming around and will be good next year. Our LB's need help and are too light in the britches in a couple places and our DB's, namely our CB's, are puppies or transfers and have a long way to go yet. I agree we are playing a few players that may be in over their head, but they're giving their all and I'm OK with that. There's no way we'd have a good enough team to win conference this year anyway. We lost a TON of talent from last year's team. As I said before, we under-performed last year by a bit. Well, we were highway robbed of a playoff appearance in the last game, but those things happen. We probably should have won at least one more game last year, too ... that being the meltdown against Missouri State. But, we didn't and we are where we are and we must accept where we are to enjoy what this kind of season can bring us. Jay has taken Peveto's players and done his best with them. Peve had some good players, no doubt, and Peve also recruited some guys that shouldn't be playing Division I football. It happens. I can guarantee you Jay Thomas will change a lot about the makeup of our team over the next couple years. If you don't believe me, look at the size of the OL and DL he's brought in as of late. Look at the size of the LB's he's had transfer in. Look at the size of our DB's and our future dynamo FB/HB. Jay knows what he's doing, but he might be in a conundrum right now that will take a season to fix. I can't speak for conditioning issues. That's beyond my fan forum pay grade. My advice is to relax and enjoy the ride. None of us -- young to old -- are guaranteed tomorrow, so to even be sitting under an AC, enjoying dinner -- be it a sandwich or a four-course meal -- typing on a fan forum discussing college football is a blessing. Have a nice evening. See y'all Saturday ... Lord willing and the creeks don't rise. I can promise you one or more of these QBs won't stick around after this season after this debacle. I wouldn't if i were them.

These kids can't get in a rhythm and while I don't believe we have the defense to beat the upper tier conference teams at least give one of the younger QBs the live snaps and game reps and stick with them even if they don't play well. These guys are so afraid of messing up because they only have a couple possessions to play each game and this crap should've been decided in fall camp. Now the coaches have egg on their face for bringing in Rivers and its only hurting the team to drag this circus out..start anyone of the Qbs except Rivers and let them be our guy and lead this team. Jay talks about building for the future so do it now and pick someone already.

Most of what I have read is true, the D is not strong, and the O is floundering. But, whoever agreed to this schedule is where the buck should stop. These players have been beaten down from bigger and better teams. Will they rise up and fight for a win??? We shall see. Have any of you thought about how difficult it probably is for a team to change DCs every year??4 out of 4 years they have had a new guy. Great players make great coaches. All a great coach can do is try to teach a player to use his talents. Motivation is so hard when you are getting killed. I just hope the players can bounce back. My question is....was it worth the money? All the athletes should be grateful for the team's sacrifice. Playing teams so far over your head has to be really difficult.

Well it appears UCA got nearly all of its hurt players back plus a couple I don't think we expected. I think you will see a different Bear team out on that field Saturday. 0-2 sucks but maybe the level of competition, like what the Demons are experiencing, is the reason the Bears are struggling. Oklahoma State and Samford..two VERY good teams to start the year off PLUS no home game the first four weeks..fans have all but forgotten there is a team. Scheduling like that SUCKS!
Glad to watch them live on Saturday though! Conference BEGINS!

I hate not having a solidified starter at QB after three games too, but I think it's very likely that the coaches and probably the entire offense knows who is starting Saturday night. There's no advantage in publicly declaring a starter at qb. UCA would probably gameplan for all 4 qb's anyway, but it definitely makes it more difficult for them to prepare not knowing exactly who or what to expect from us. I think Almond will get the start and also think that's the right decision. Thomas has hinted that the leash won't be too tight for whoever is at qb, which is extremely important. Like CajunDemon was saying, its a bad situation when qb's are always looking over their shoulder, worried about getting pulled because it causes them to be timid in their decision making and hesitant to try and make a big play.

Bear fan here...looking forward to my trip to Natchitoches on Saturday to watch the Bears and Demons square off. It's been a tough year so far for both teams. Haven't been able to get a good feel about the Bears team this year. This game should tell us a lot about both squads and how we will stack up in the Southland this year. Hope to meet some NSU fans and have a cold one.

The game itself is a huge question mark for myself and I'm assuming the other Demon fans, defense has looked pretty bad so far, and the musical chairs at qb is frustrating to say the least. Hoping we just stick with one tomorrow and see what one could do for an entire game. Crowd may be pretty sparse, but I'm hoping for a decent turnout due to it being family weekend.

Game day and NOTHING in the the local paper! Really? The weekend edition and nothing? Talked to a couple of ESPN tv guys this morning and they said the same thing. Is there another paper besides the Times in this town? Don't mean to sound like I'm complaining just hoping to read some matchup thoughts or some idea about the Demons.

The sad part is everyone around me is leaving after halftime. Our players and coaches need to understand you have to earn a crowd to the game and keep the crowd during the game. I still have faith, but it's waning as the moon waxes.
