Are you disappointed in our team after last night's performance? Don't be! Right now is the time they need us the most. We are so close to getting over that proverbial hump that started around 2006 and lasted until 2012. It's a huge hump, but we're almost there. SLU was a tough opponent to begin the season and we played hard until the bitter end. Do we still have work to do? Yes! I think this loss will help us in the long run, but for those of you who are down and out, hold on for the next two weeks as it does NOT get any easier. ULL will be hard to beat in Lafayette. I'm not saying it can't be done, but we're not sneaking up on anyone and they have tape of our weaknesses and our new-found weapon in Blumenthal. It will take a flawless effort and some gifts to knock off the Cajuns. But, we beat a better team than them in Ruston last year, so you never know. Mississippi State will be a loss and I hope we play lots of backups in that game. So, being 0-3 when UCA comes to town is more likely than not. It gets really "real" on September 26 (UCA game), however. That is a must-win game, but we can run the table from that point on. Will we? It's not likely, but we can. I'm very excited about the future and realize recovering from being flat on our backs for years just takes time. No different than getting healthy from a disease or getting out of debt in real life. Fork'em!!!

I don't know if disappointed is the right word, we opened up with the defending conference champions without a named qb starter and playing a lot of new faces on defense so there has to be healthy dose of realistic expectations. Myself along with others I think were just expecting to see maybe a step forward as opposed to a step back from last year. Im just a casual fan and I could've seen the Rivers situation playing out the way it did, and Im just upset the coaches couldn't see that happening.

I agree with Cajundemon11...I am not terribly disappointed, although I was really hoping for a win against the Lions. To say I am shocked about the Rivers deal is not really accurate. I am somewhat let down, but as Cajundemon said, you could kind of see it coming with the track record. I was hoping Bear would do a little better, but it's tough when they are running wild in the backfield on you. Blumenthal was our best bet at that point, since he has speed and elusiveness that few possess. We should be okay in the stretch run, we just need to iron a few things out.
