Our defensive line is YOUNG, but deep. Here is a breakdown:
DE -- Leroy Armstrong -- 6'1"-250lbs -- projected starter -- Senior -- LA
Jamarcus Marshall -- 6'3"-255lbs -- projected starter -- Junior -- LA
Darrien Batiste -- 6'2"-260lbs -- Junior -- LA
Dannie Harmon -- 6'2"-265lbs -- Soph -- LA
Diontre Thomas -- 6'2"-250lbs -- Junior -- TX
LaAllen Clark -- 6'2"-250lbs -- Soph -- LA
Ivy Jackson -- 6'2"-250lbs -- Soph -- LA
Desmond Prejean -- 6'3"-235lbs -- Fresh (will RS) -- LA
Cameron Hooper -- 6'4"-235lbs -- Fresh (will RS) -- LA
DL -- Josh Roberts -- 6'3"-315lbs -- projected starter -- Sophomore -- TX
Andrew Bluiett -- 6'4"-340lbs -- projected starter -- Sophomore -- TX
Isaiah Wheeler -- 6'1"-310lbs -- Sophomore -- LA
Randy Woodle -- 5'10"-275lbs -- Sophomore -- LA
Garron Featherston -- 6'2"-305lbs -- Sophomore -- CA
Demarcus Drumgo -- 6'0"- 300lbs -- Senior -- LA
Zane Bush -- 6'2"-275lbs -- Freshman -- AR
Charlie Matthews -- 6'1"-300lbs -- Freshman (should RS) -- LA
Cedric Paul -- 6'1"-275lbs -- Freshman -- LA
Dalen Morgan -- 5'10"-310lbs -- Freshman (will RS) -- TX
I can't remember having this much depth on the DL, but we're pretty young (14 of 19 are underclassmen). DE's will be very, very stout, however interior guys are still enigmatic until they get some game experience. I know Josh Roberts has NFL talent. Andrew Bluiett is HUGE, but raw and very talented. The rest of the crew, save Matthews and Morgan are lunch bucket type guys who are very tough. Charlie Matthews, if he stays healthy, is a Kyle Williams (former LSU DL from Ruston) clone. He'll be phenomenal if he stays healthy. I think Dalen Morgan could be just as good, as well. Isaiah Wheeler has a huge upside and will play quite a bit. Randy Woodle is small and compact, but also very talented, which will allow him to see some snaps this year. Garron Featherston is raw, yet, but in a year could be a true difference maker. Zane Bush and Cedric Paul, both equally talented, could all see snaps in some games to help them get better. Both could be key players in a couple years. Demarcus Drumgo will be an inspirational leader and a key role player in many games this year. There are kids from four states -- AR, CA, LA and TX -- with the majority hailing from the Bayou State! For the record, heights and weights are within 1 inch and 5-10lbs.
