Looks like the Prejean kid will be a linebacker at NSU, rather than DE...unless he puts on a few pounds.

I think he has the size and athleticism to play a hybrid type of rush end that can drop back and play some coverage. Very intelligent and displays excellent pursuit to the football. Solid pickup.

You are most welcome, sir. After this last weekend, everybody wants to brag on where they are going. D1-bound is the operative word. I just seize the opportunity, LOL! Actually I've added a commit since your post and changed the format. Can't say that they are all correct but probably 98% correct. Commitments are not really confirmed till signing day. Reginald Turner is a special player. He is a big "get" for the Demons. I know McNeese lost on Mr. Turner but that's just recruiting. Good Luck to the Demons on "Signing Day"! Looks like ULM got Turner at the last minute, bummer. Also UH stole away the Deshotel kid from Pearland. That's how recruiting goes sometimes. Also heard this Jason Charles guy was never offered? I don't know how it got out he was committed to us, but thats the word I heard.

We only want kids who WANT to be at NSU. A zero star kid with talent who wants to be in Natchitoches will perform as well or better than a two or even three-star kid who is begrudgingly part of the football team. Can't blame Deshotels for wanting to stay home and play for the Cougars. Turner,on the other hand, made a decision to leave town and play with a team that is, at best, a lateral move. Good luck to him.

Good luck to him. We have a bunch of kids playing for us who didn't initially sign with us, if we went by that logic we wouldn't accept any transfers. If they don't "want" to be at NSU when they sign out of high school it could be for a number of reasons. Maybe he just wanted to get out of town where he grew up, you never know. He would be welcomed back if things didn't work out at ULM. We do need some 2-3 star recruits to win at this level, no doubt about it.

Of course. When they choose another place and want to come back ... that means they want to be here. That's all I meant. I don't take the Les Miles attitude of recruiting and say "to hell with any kid that doesn't want to play at NSU." That's a bit over the top.

Yea I see what you mean. Like you said though, it was a lateral move to go to ULM. Would've made more sense to me if he chose McNeese.

It looks to me like Vaughn will pick up right where Antzenweiler left off (and more so). By his sophomore year he will be a serious force for defensive ends and linebackers to contend with.
