We're getting blown out in Monroe ... in the first half. ULM is on a 25-6 run. We're not very good right now, boys. And that's perplexing given how good Jalan West, Zeek Woodley and Marvin Frazier are as individual players. As a team, at least in 7.5 games, haven't shot the ball well at all (especially the three) and we have no height outside of Frazier inside. In fact, we're being out-rebounded 23-7 at this point. It's going to be a long year unless we can find our proverbial shooting hand.

ULM 42 NSU 30 Halftime. Warhawks went on a 31-17 run over the last thirteen minutes. We're getting hammered on the boards. ULM shooting 55 percent from the field, too. Not an insurmountable lead at all, but I see no way we're going to win it unless we hit our stride very soon. However, to be fair, we went on a 13-6 run to close out the half. It was getting ugly beforehand, however.

Freaking awful...it's one thing to play like that against OU, Texas Tech and TAMU but against f-cking ULM?!?!
I've come to the conclusion that we don't recruit fundamentally sound basketball players...either that or, and I hesitate to mention it, something is missing in practice. This is a yearly deal...sucking during OOC games and then finally/maybe hitting our stride halfway through SLC play.

Well, don't look now, but NSU is on a 32-15 run of its own. ULM 51 NSU 49. This is good. Very good. BTW, basketball gives me a headache.

NSU briefly takes the lead -- 63-61. Let's see if it holds.

ULM 82 NSU 74 Final. Much better second-half from our boys, but we just aren't a complete team right now. 60 of our points came from three players -- all guards, mind you. We were out-rebounded 44-28. Given that ULM shot almost 60 percent from the field tells me our defense still isn't up to snuff and we have no way to block out the inside game. If we had some height down low, we'd be very good. But, we only have Frazier and he gets in foul trouble trying to do it all himself. So, until King and Deji show up on the floor, don't count on winning too many games at true peer competition. That's ULL, Arkansas, SFA, Sam Houston, TAMU-CC, etc. I thought this would be a 20-win season, but I'm not so sure anymore. It can still happen, but not without better defense and rebounding.
