Game day.
We have been disrespected by fans on several upcoming opponents message boards but this is the first time we have been totally ignored. Even Incarnate Word got a thread. That tough loss to McNeese must have sucked the life right out of you.? It was an exciting game and your team showed a lot of character to fight back after such a disappointing first half.
Anyway, welcome to Abilene, for any of you can muster up the energy to mosey on over our way.

I have been away from my computer or I would have started a thread. No disrespect intended. And trust me, we fully know how tough this game will be. I can't make this game, but Abilene is a road trip I hope to make in the future. Lord willing and the creek's don't rise.

This is a fairly new board for us. We had a lot more activity on the old board. I think the others will find this one in due time. Anyway, welcome to the Southland. ACU is a superb addition to the league.

Superb win against a good team who beat two FBS teams -- Troy and Georgia State -- this year, UCA by 17 and gave McNeese and Sam good games. I was a bit disappointed in some of overconfidence ACU fans showed on their forum, however. ACU fans ... this is the Southland Conference. Take NO team lightly. Especially one that has been to the playoffs six times and were inches away from a NC in 1998. We've had a rough decade, but we're coming back to our old selves. I can promise you, we'll never underestimate your team. I'd learn to give us our due respect, too.

What does it matter if we didn't have an ACU thread, I certainly don't care enough to find the ACU message board and check if NSU is a thread topic.

It was a dreary atmosphere and felt dead for most of the game, but we responded nicely when ACU got a quick 10 and put it away with some long drives in the second half. Eagan once again proves that he is a nightmare to cover.

They're a solid addition I agree, they just need a serious upgrade in game day atmosphere, which should happen with an on campus stadium of their own.

My bad on the Georgia State score. Even so, Abilene Christian has been and will always be a tough opponent. I seriously doubt they'll spend millions on an on-campus stadium if the one they're using suffices. I noticed their attendance was less for our game than some they've had this season. Surprising in a town that is bigger than Beaumont and Lake Charles. Fans are fickle, though.

www.acu.edu/via/wildcat-stadium.htmlThey are building an on campus stadium, it'll be done in time for the 2016 season. Also they listed the attendance at 4800 and I can promise you there was not but maybe half of that number.

Nice looking layout they're planning there. I think it's smart for FCS programs to stay around that 8-12k mark for stadium capacity. Hard to fill up anything past those numbers for 90 percent of the programs across the nation.

Just wanted to congratulate you on the win. That was a very efficient a** whooping. I was impressed. Eagan and Adkins have some kind of chemistry going on.
We are so happy to be back in the SLC. I think the atmosphere will improve with the on campus stadium as well as getting to know our opponents better. You were the first old SLC member to come to Abilene. (Edit: Lamar was a home game earlier)
Transition is hard. I am pleased that we have been competitive but watching the Demons makes me realize how far we have to go.
Good luck the next two weeks.

Surprising in a town that is bigger than Beaumont and Lake Charles. Fans are fickle, though. The problem with Abilene is that it is first and foremost a high school football town. Three very successful programs. Then, there are 2 D3 schools in town. And, we only have about 4k undergrads. So an 8k stadium should be a great venue for us. We would like to attract our DFW alumni to come back to campus for football. In our D2 playoff years we averaged between 8-9k. Your posters are spot on. The atmosphere was horrible on Saturday.

Abilene Christian makes the Southland better, no doubt. You bring a lot to the table and we're glad to have you. And fear not, we scored 87 on SLU their first season back and last year they went to the quarterfinals in the playoffs and could make some noise again this year, too. It doesn't take long to catch up in the SLC. Wildcats aren't that far off, really. You were a tremendous D2 program. As for us, we're just now climbing out of a decade-long hole. Still lots of work to do, but it's getting better.
