It seems there will be a purging of the old roster and additions to the new football roster. That is expected. We signed six recruits yesterday. Not sure how many will sign in February. It will be interesting to see who stays and who is added. Coach McKorkle stated there will be a new type of offense installed and see it unfurl. Lots of changes.

Also it was great to see the NCAA grant waivers to the players for this past season regardless of if they play for us or elsewhere.

I hope we keep all the players who truly want to go to class, get an education, and be upstanding in their character. Obviously not perfect, but those who are teachable and coachable. The others can go wherever. Good luck.

I agree 100%. I think a good mix of players who don’t want to be at NSU or be a part of MCorkles program can go, but it seems like more than I thought are staying at Northwestern.

I'd be curious what percentage of the roster is staying. I am guessing maybe half. There are several from the 2023 roster in the transfer portal. Stanley King has already been picked up by Kent State and Trevion Sneed was listed as part of the SFA December recruiting class. It doesn't matter as a complete reboot is coming.

I will say this, one former opponent of NSU really scouted our talent:
Southeast Missouri - Tyler McMillan, Jared Pedraza
Other notable transfers:
PVAMU - Scooter Adams, Kwame Sarkodie Rhode Island - Jordan Cooper Harding - Jordan Mcclaine Samford - Nazir Sy Jackson State - Cameron Vaughn, Jaeden Ward
With that, glad to see we are moving forward and wish the young men who decided to leave success in the future.

It was sad to me that one player that could and may have stayed was basically ignored. Zach Patterson, 2022 Southland Newcomer of the Year, graduated this December but had another year of eligibility. He was interested in talking to coaches about staying and doing grad work, but they never showed much interest, so he is looking elsewhere. Perhaps he can find somewhere that needs some WR talent. God speed him on his journey. I pray he finds a good place to land.

Zach Patterson is a good ball player. I hope he stays but new coaches like to bring in their own talent. It seems the offense is changing schemes. Hard to get a read on much right now. Probably won't know a lot until spring practice.

I highly doubt a player of his caliber would not be welcomed back to play again. I’d be interested to know the real story. Either way, I wish him well.

Zach is a curious one for me, but I must say I like what the staff is doing. The signing of QB Kekahi Graham tells me that we are reaching into our bag to find some gems.
I see a smashmouth, hard-nosed football team being put together...but the start of the process is so far a good one as the pieces are being put together.

I looked at QB Graham's Hudl. He's good. I don't think he's very tall but he can run and throw. I wonder if the tall freshman QB is staying or has left? I am assuming a new roster will be posted by or before spring camp?

The last thing I heard on Fayard (tall freshman QB) is that he should be back. Update on Zach Patterson: technically he’s still a part of the team. It’s a waiting game. The portal will open again in April, then we’ll know.

If Fayard is staying and the new QB is good, we should be set there. If Patterson is back, that's really good. Seems we made RB a priority. Hard to judge the transfers we signed, outside of the QB, because they didn't come from FBS. I like this approach. We need football players with team character. Self-indulged dynamos with attitudes can go elsewhere, wherever the NIL money is flowing. The game is all but lost. What's next? Logos all over the uniforms like NASCAR and soccer?

They broke ground on the new David and Sherry Morgan Health Performance Center on December 1st. Does anyone have any info about when it will actually open, and what kind of impact it will have on recruiting? Seems like it should help a lot.
