I am hearing a D-II coach from Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Missouri. It must be getting close because there's a lot of chatter now.

Looks like he can rebuild. Seems like a stretch to have to go into The D3 ranks though. NSU could have gotten a D1 coordinator or a top d2 coach.

I know for a fact d2 coaches and d1 coordinators were interviewed in the process. If McCorkle stood out then why let something like the difference betweeen d2 and d3 be a deciding factor? Its winning at the collegiate level, and can argue its even harder to do at that level with athletic scholarship restritictions.
I'm done with hiriing anyone who hasn't won as a head coach. So, personally I am pumped for this hire. Fresh start with a proven winner. Lets see what he can do.

This guy looks to be very capable in running and improving a football program. Remember, Lance Leipold was once D-III. Willie Fritz was once D-II. This is the best news I have seen involving NSU football since Steve Roberts replaced Coach Goodwin.

Their playoff score this year - 🥹. Looks like their wins have come mostly against teams with losing records the past several years. Sometimes a winning coaching record is deceiving. He’s had stops as assistant at several other D1’s and played at LSU. Can’t find what position he played.

I believe he was a deep or long snapper at LSU. Not sure on that. The playoff score isn't deceiving at all. That school -- North Central -- out of Illinois could beat many D-II schools and some FCS schools right now. They are beast mode for D-III. Look at how they have absolutely mauled their opponents.

They hung 71 points last week.

And beating peer teams with any record is still a win my man. 9-2 is still 9-2...That logic blows my mind. But hey you might want to also pull up his traffic violations while we're at it.

Glad that we have our guy, and he seems capable. After how things have gone, he has a big job ahead of him. Hopefully he will be able to quickly build a good staff of assistants.

I honestly like the move. We have a coach who has a pedigree through the FCS but needed an opportunity and found that opportunities were small so he went to the D-III level and built a program that was kinda in the situation that we are in currently.
Delaware, Richmond, Liberty, Chattanooga, and UT-Martin....3 of those teams this year are in the FCS playoffs and Liberty is undefeated on the FBS level. This tells me that he knows what it takes to win. As a fan base, we must be patient and give him the time that he needs to get his type of players in here to get his back to a championship level.

Seems the team Belhaven lost to in the D3 playoffs outscored its opponents roughly 57-12 this season. I'd say they're pretty good. So, this new coach can likely work wonders on our level. Give him time and space and let him do his thing.

I watched the entire presser on YouTube and was impressed with his comments and how he handled the moment. He seems to have a good coaching philosophy and plan to develop a new and better culture with the team. The last time I remember seeing a guy with this much poise, a plan, and passion was probably Steve Roberts. I know, I know, he didn’t stay long. I’m not trying to compare the two. That would be unfair, but I’m just saying that I appreciated the way he handled the press conference. He also has the down to earth tones that came with Coach Goodwin. I am excited and looking forward to seeing what he does in the coming days. I really believe things are beginning to look up for the program. Go Demons!
