Everyone knows that special teams is very important piece of every team's football puzzle. I have mentioned many players who will see special teams action, but the key cogs in the wheel on special teams are the following players. I mean, without a great snap, without a solid kick or without a great hold ... everyone else already has their backs against the wall.
Andy Wickman -- 6'3"-205lbs -- Senior -- TX -- Superb punter! Let's hope his Senior season is his best -- Also very good in putting the opponent inside their own 20. Chris Moore -- 6'0"-215lbs -- Senior -- TX -- Superb kicker! Let's hope his Senior season is his best -- Has a 50-plus yard leg! Ryan Woehlert -- 6'0"-220lbs -- Junior -- GA -- Transfer deep snapper who could start due to his experience!
Here are the backups:
Patrick Juneau -- 6'1"-200lbs -- Sophomore -- LA -- He was a dynamo punter in high school, so hopefully that will translate in college when Wickman graduates. John Shelton -- 5'10"-165lbs -- Sophomore -- LA -- Shelton is a good kicker and should fill in nicely when Chris Moore graduates. Chase Nelson -- 6'3"-235lbs -- Freshman -- LA -- Another great, young deep snapper who will play sooner than later and maybe even this year.
The holders will either be Tuff McClain or Brandon Monrose or both. Both of those young men are WR's.
Bottom line is we're going to be pretty stout and should be consistent in this department.
