The "Spirit of Northwestern" is on record to have probably the largest class of new men in their history with about 130 freshmen! The NSU band usually has between 90 - 110 new men.

That's awesome! Great to hear that department is growing and getting stronger.

Hello, My daughter will be attending NSU beginning this fall. She is going to be living in one of the columns. Any helpful advice you guys can offer as far as campus life.school activities, surrounding area, night life...etc? I was hoping to get some info from current or former students. I was in the SoN from 1998 - 2002. I never stayed in the columns, though. I stayed in the traditional dorms for my first 2 1/2 years and then lived off campus until I graduated. NSU has the traditional campus life with social groups, social fraternities/sororities baptist college ministry, Wesley Foundation, Catholic Student Org., etc. All athletic events on campus are within walking distance. As far as off campus night life it is somewhat limited because of the size of Natchitoches, but for me anytime my friends and I wanted to go to a movie/eat we would make the hour drive to Shreveport or 45 minute drive to Alexandria. I absolutely loved my time at NSU in Natchitoches and it's also where I met my wife. We make several trips every year back for NSU events or just to pass through on the way visiting family.
