Can we do it? Will the offense put up their best showing of the season? Can the defense play like last week? It seems that behind Montana, SE Missouri, aka SEMO, is the best FCS team we have faced or possibly will face until we reach UIW.

Turnovers, Special Teams, and Overall outcoached.
We got taken to the woodshed but I admire the fight we had in the 2nd half. Still at the top of the Southland Conference standings so we need to enjoy the bye week, heal, and get back at it in 2 weeks.

Outplayed. Outcoached. They were just better than us. It should have been closer (three very short fields led to 21 easy points and we seem to love passing on sure points ... every game), but it was still a stark reminder how far we have fallen from FCS high-level competition. Even if we hadn't given up those short fields and took advantage of those points, we would have still lost by two touchdowns or so. We have a long way to go.

Attendance was roughly 4,500. I can remember when we would pull 10,000 or more for homecoming. We have fallen way down. We can get back up. We aren't back yet, but it can happen.

Football is kindly like huntin', I reckon. It rolls around in seasons, and some days you win, and some days you lose. There is even a limit on it like huntin', so you only have so much time to succeed. If you come home empty handed weekend after weekend and you give up and don't ever go back in the woods where the game is played, you won't ever eat backstrap and cathead biscuits again. That ain't an option, so you get up and try again, and again, and again, so on and so forth. Now, I am talkin' about huntin', not this corn plot harvesting this younger bunch does these days. That pure laziness. So, lookin' at the stats from the box score, you can see we have talent, but we're missin' something somewhere. I am not a football coach, so I haven't the foggiest idea what needs to be fixed. Glad to see Scooter back, though. If we rest up, get lucky against Commerce, it's down to two games, but from what I have read, we have our work cut out for us in all three. Alrighty now, gotta get ready for church. Y'all have a good'un. Keep your powder dry.
