Both teams scratching to, at the very least, get into the conference tournament.
I watched the end of the Lady Demons game and the beginning of the Demons game. I know I've asked before, but wtf has happend to our basketball teams? Both used to be top of the SLC squads. Now we're bottom third every year. Getting out played by schools that were DII the last time we went to the NCAA tournament.
Are we not getting the talent we used to? Is it coaching (I'm not a basketball expert)? Are our players not developing in our systems?

I think we have talent. I put a lot on coaches inability to adapt to personnel. By that I mean NSU did not have the players for the "wave system" last year. The wave works when your a high scoring team that is able to put pressure on opponents and create turnovers. 5 in and 5 out makes sense. However last year NSU was one of the poorest shooting teams and lowest scoring teams in D1. NTM didn't create turnovers. Yet Coach continued to try and institute the wave system. He was routinely playing the 10, 11, 12 and 13 man. Not even high D1's do that cause everyone knows the talent drops off. He eventually stopped last year cause of the injuries. Even this year he tried to force the system. Thankfully he's gotten away from it the past 10 games and gone to a more basic sub pattern. Great coaches adapt to their players strengths and weaknesses as opposed to making players change.

I read an article at the beginning of the season that talked about NSU's strength was its bigs. Ish, Larry and Darian. The article went on to say that Coach Mike rarely relies on bigs and puts more on his guards BUT he should change his philosophy this year in order for them to compete. While Ish has balled out Larry and Darian's game really haven't taken that step up. I put that on the way they are used as both are very talented. Coaching/player development.

At times we look really good. Sadly, we seem to fall back on old habits and get out of any offensive rhythm.
Must win the the last 3 to get in.

Horrible game tonight with so much on the line. A change is needed.

Horrible game tonight with so much on the line. A change is needed. We're just not the same program we used to be. I wish I had the answer as to why. I'm not sure how much longer Coach McConathy will coach but it's sad that the end of his dynasty is going this way.

Under current situation nothing will change. NTM the departure of Ish and DeAndre it will probably go back to 2017-2018.
