This one used to be the game of the year in the Southland. We always made the trip to Lake Charles to tailgate and get into with the McNeese fans...it was a lot of fun. Always a packed house whether at Cowboy stadium or at Turpin. The back and forth on the message board was intense and the name calling was very creative. Who can forget McOneandone in honor of the Cowboys always losing in the first round of the playoffs. Boy did they hate that nickname!! Oh for those days again...

Was such a fun game. Used to be packed every year. Would love to rekindle that rivalry again.

I fondly remember riding down to Lake Charles on an alumni charter bus and arriving at General Wise's camp for a big pre-game meal and gathering. I was but a wee lad, but the memories are still strong today, even in my weak mind. Those were great trips and a good time to be a Demon fan.

The 2003 game in lake Charles. We lost 13-9 but it was a physical war and the atmosphere was great. Plus that was back when McNeese had that nice grass field.

That was the game we should've ended the losing streak IN Lake Charles. I remember it vividly because the SoN made a rare trip to that away game and we were sitting right in front of the endzone where a WIDE OPEN running back (Shelton or Sampson, can't remember that part) had the chance to run in for a TD without being touched and instead slipped and fell down...Demons had to settle for a FG. A play later on in the game a wide open Toby Zeigler was all but assaulted (right in front of the band) and the pass interference wasn't called on the McNeese defender. Would've been a huge play and given the Demons the ball deep in Cowboy territory.

He would have walked in. That was an epic battle...we had some really good players. The two headed monster of Johnese and Sampson as well as the big fullback Issa Banna that was so good. All of them were grown men!

Watching this game...we're literally on the doorstep for a TD and we fumble the ball...
All this after our players don't know the rules of football and let a live ball get picked up by McNeese on the kickoff.
What a f-cking joke.

Demons need to go ahead and just forfeit...Piccione misses from easy distance for him. This is an "anything that can go wrong, will" type of game.

We have outgained them in yards yet down 17-3. Anything that can go wrong has gone wrong.

Too big of a hole to get out of. 37-17 in a game that we should be winning.
I'll give credit, Demons still playing hard.

Not sure if we should be winning but it should be a one possession game for sure.

And then we have the worst on side kick of all time and give up a 4th and 9...nice

Tons of self inflicted wounds.
Need a good hire to revitalize the program.
