Eagan's hurdling of a sam defensive back is on sports center top 10. I'll provide a link here soon.

Well I will tip my cap to the demons. Good win
Can't totally agree that your defense stoned shsu. Keeler as he has done several times this year abandoned the run for no reason and decided to start throwing the ball with a quarterback who is not capable of making the throws he is asked to make. Stoning another team means you stop the run and force the pass but that didn't happen today. The Bearkats staff is insistent on throwing the ball and your defense never really had to shut the power running game down. Keeler took care of that for you. Up 21-7 with the ground game controlling the momentum, we went back to back drives without giving the ball to the running backs.
SAM HOUSTON ST. drive start at 07:03. 1-10 Shsu 20 1-10 Shsu 39 2-10 Shsu 39 3-10 Shsu 39 4-10 Shsu 39 Jared Johnson rush for 19 yards to the SHSU39, 1ST DOWN SHSU (Jones, Adam;Sellers, R11 WaDerrious). Jared Johnson pass incomplete to Keshawn Hill. Jared Johnson pass incomplete to Derreck Edwards (Claiborne, Imoan). Jared Johnson pass incomplete to Derreck Edwards, QB hurry by Armstrong, Leroy. Lachlan Edwards punt 53 yards to the NWLA8, fair catch by Eagan, Ed.
You guys drive and scores to make it 21-14 then we do this
SAM HOUSTON ST. drive start at 02:35. 1-10 Shsu 25 2-3 Shsu 32 1-10 Shsu 47 2-10 Shsu 47 Jared Johnson rush for 7 yards to the SHSU32 (Jones, Adam). Jared Johnson pass incomplete to Keshawn Hill, PENALTY NWLA roughing passer (Broadway, X12 Cornist) 15 yards to the SHSU47, 1ST DOWN SHSU, NO PLAY. Jared Johnson pass incomplete to Derreck Edwards (Collins, Chase). Jared Johnson pass intercepted by Jones, Adam at the NWLA32, Jones, Adam return 11 yards to the NWLA43 (Yedidiah Louis).
Taking a quick look through the play by play you all never really shut down or slowed down Keyshawn hill. Our coaches just ain't real bright. And in all honesty that's what it takes to win games. Players doing their best and coaches doing their best. You guys did that today. You took advantage of shsu weaknesses and answered their downfall with points on the board and you walk away the winners. Again I'm not trying to take away from your overall team perfoance, I just can't agree that you shut down out running game because you just didn't have to, it was done for you.
Your offense did what it needed to do to overcome a woeful kicking game and that didn't surprise me. I figured you all would put points on the board.
Anyways good luck the rest of the year. You have a great coach in Thomas and y'all will just keep getting better under his direction in my opinion. As for my Bearkats, I don't see the future being as bright with our head coach and division 3 coaching staff.

Message to unreasonable Sam fans who are STILL making excuses and want their coach or coaches fired. (not you Bearkat41 ... thank you for your kind words)
"Accept defeat!!!
You had roughly 200 yards rushing on roughly 11 attempts in the first quarter and some change. That was an outstanding effort. You rushed the ball 30 plus more times for another 150 yards roughly. Still, a great effort. Then you had about 80 yards passing on 22 attempts. Your passing game wasn't very good, honestly. With three times as many attempts in rushing the ball, and your 'we should have rushed the ball more reasoning,' you would have gained another 600 yards rushing on those 30 plus attempts. That is, in essence, what you all are saying after the fact. Many of you think that you would have run the ball, at will, on us the whole game. Why didn't that happen? You ran the ball 30 plus more times after your first quarter successes, right? That didn't happen because we made adjustments. When we made the adjustments, your rushing game went from twenty yards a pop to five yards an attempt. You had to try to throw the ball in order to keep us honest or we would have throttled you even more. Your coaches didn't get away from the run game as much as we made you get away from the run game. Remember, our defense held SLU to 235 yards offense. Yesterday's win wasn't a fluke, men.
With all that being said, there are more facets to the game than just Sam's running game.
We put nearly 500 yards of offense on your defense. Honestly, we should have beaten you by two touchdowns. Finally, not that it really matters, but, yes, we stoned your team from quarters two and some change through four just like you stoned us for the first quarter and some change. You outscored us 21-7 during that time. From there on out, we outscored you 24-6 ... and left points on the field, real points like two missed field goals, a pick going into end zone and getting close to the 20 yard line only to lose field position due to penalties. Feel lucky we didn't put 40 or more points on your defense because those points were there for the taking. That's our fault for not taking advantage of them.
So, give us some credit for beating you and stop making excuses. Then we can end this, focus on our next worthy opponents and pick up the banter again next year. Lord willing and Ebola doesn't rise. Yes, there are more important things than football.
Good luck the rest of the year."

I'd say "stoning" in the second half would be accurate. 93 total yards and 6 points is getting out-coached and out-adjusted. Is it so insane to think we forced them into passing the ball and took them out of what they wanted to do??? Oh wait…that's right, that would involve giving our players and coaches some credit...

First of all, thank you McNeese75. Cajun, I equate such a mentality to a child not accepting reality and pitching a hissy fit because of it ... or as we have seen, making excuses of it. It's fine to lament a loss by what could have been. That's normal. But, to not give the other team credit for beating you is a huge weakness in sportsmanship. I can look back to the SLU and Missouri State game and count three total plays that would have given us the win over those two teams. But, we lost and on those days, SLU and Missouri State were the better teams. Period. Some Sam Houston fans should link up in a club with some La Tech fans. They are of the same ilk -- delusional.

To the BearKat poster...Yes Keeler did abandon the run. What you obviously didn't notice was that our DC Mike Lucas changed our scheme and shut down the run completely even after losing Simon and putting a freshman walkon in at Def tackle, forcing Sam to try and throw. Sam Houston is woeful when they have to throw the football. To compare him with Bennett of SLU is an absolute joke. Zach is a much better QB than Johnson. We have a very good football team and DTNSU you need to chill. These kids never quit and are very well coached. We are not completely there yet but I wouldn't want to play us...these kids believe they can beat everyone left on the schedule. The game was incredible, the fans were awesome and it was a pleasure to be a part of it.

We enjoyed this win more than any other, save LA Tech (that was one for the ages). This was a great game for us, even the LSU faithful at our church gave us props and actually watched the game. They kept telling my son how he was now a movie star after they saw him on TV. I was so proud of our team for never giving up and gutting out this great win. Hopefully, we will roll into Conway and drop a bomb on the Bears. If we keep focused, get and stay healthy, and keep that 'never say die' attitude we should do really well. I would love to be buying playoff tickets this fall!

Uh, I made a whopping 2 or 3 posts. I'll chill whenever the hell I feel like it. By your own confession you are pessimistic and said we looked like dog shit and were awful. He has a point. Let's at least wait till the final result before bashing our guys. We didn't play awesome and but these kids are busting their ass for all 4 quarters and learning to win meaningful games. Everyone is entitled to type what they want though so you can chill whenever you want like you said, we're all rooting for the same team here. Lets just leave it at that. On to UCA.

I really feel that we got over the hump last weekend. We've been very close the last few years only to fall short multiple times. IT was great to watch the Demons make the plays to finish off a solid opponent.
UCA will be out next BIG test. We have to show that the Sam Houston game wasn't a fluke and that we can consistently defeat some solid teams and make a run towards the playoffs.
To give credit to DTNSU, who is possibly the biggest NSU supporter I know, I was feeling the same way at times, very frustrated. I'm very proud of the team for putting everything together and finishing off Sam. Onward and upward. Nothing wrong with a little passion on this board every now and then. As posted above, we are all on the same team.

Whoever doesn't take this team seriously is just delusional. We're literally three plays away from being 6-1. Those three plays are the fumble going into the end zone (one yard line) to take a 31-7 lead on Missouri State. Their coach admitted that would have iced the game. And a pick six and blocked field goal at SLU. I am not sure how this season will end up, but I am sure that Jay Thomas' personality and coaching style is starting to show in our team. The future is bright.

Whoever doesn't take this team seriously is just delusional. That is what makes me happy. There is someone left on our schedule who is thinking that we aren't a great team. I would love nothing more than to run into a team that makes this mistake and run them off the field. You can definitely see the team becoming a Jay Thomas team. I really think this is just the beginning for us. FORK EM
